If you're aiming to apply to leading business institutions in India and abroad that accept NMAT scores, you're likely familiar with this exam and want to gain more details. Hosted by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), it’s a ticket to some of the best B-schools in India and abroad. NMAT is considered one of the most candidate-friendly tests to evaluate your language, quantitative aptitude, and logical skills.

How to Download NMAT Result

GMAC provides NMAT results online 48 hours after you take the test. The NMAT results are available for download on the official GMAC website. Here are the steps to access and download the scorecard:

  • Log in to your NMAT account using your unique application ID and password.
  • Click the "Scorecard" button on the screen.
  • The scorecard is displayed, showing your overall and sectional scores, along with the percentile rank. Here, you can download a copy of your scorecard.

After the third test window, candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for admission to the NMAT participating institutions receive a confirmation email. The confirmation email provides the candidate with the link to download their NMAT scorecard.

NMAT Scorecard: Details Mentioned

The scorecard contains general information about each candidate, including their NMAT ID, application number, candidate’s gender, age, date of birth, and category. The important details that the scorecard includes are:

  • Scaled score for each section (Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Skills, Language Skills)
  • Total scaled score
  • Final NMAT percentile

Scores for the NMAT range from 12-120 for each section and 36-360 for the overall exam. The scorecard is important for admissions to colleges that acknowledge the NMAT entrance exam. It is acceptable in more than 50 colleges in India and abroad, including NMIMS Mumbai, XIMB, TAPMI, GSB, VIT Vellore, IFMR, and others.

NMAT Cutoff Marks

Understanding the NMAT exam's cutoff and score range is essential to formulating a preparation strategy and understanding the results better. Cutoffs are determined by several factors, including the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the number of seats available.

A common score range of 36-360 is generated by the NMAT exam, which targets each test taker's specific ability level. It’s a standardized score for all test takers wherein the question difficulty level is dynamically adjusted.

The NMAT percentile score illustrates how a candidate’s score compares to the rest of the NMAT takers. Therefore, if you received a percentile score of 90, you performed better than 90% of other candidates. In this case, you would be among the top 10% of candidates.

Let’s check out the NMAT percentiles for the top colleges in 2023.

Institution NMAT Cut-off Score / Percentile
Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) 220+
Xavier School of Human Resource Management (MBA-Human Resource Management program) 85+
Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) 248+
Amity University, Delhi-NCR (MBA programs) 60+

NMAT Scaled Score Vs. Percentile Score

The NMAT scorecard displays the candidate's scaled and percentile scores. The scaled score is calculated from the candidate's performance in each section. It reflects their relative standing among all test-takers. Announced within 48 hours, the scaled score is not directly reported to the institutions but serves as the basis for the percentile calculation. GMAC ensures that the NMAT accounts for variations in question difficulty. The final NMAT percentile accurately reflects the candidate's overall performance.
