How to Get TOEIC Score Certificate

Getting your TOEIC result or score certificate is an easy process. The official score certificate containing the TOEIC exam results will be sent to you within 30 days of the testing day. You can also view the results online 17 days after the day of the test. When you undertake a TOEIC score check online process, remember that your admission ticket signature and photograph will be printed in black and white on the official certificate. 

The Listening and Reading test has automated scoring technologies for multiple-choice questions. The Speaking and Writing responses are dispatched through a secure system. This section is scored by calibrated and certified ETS raters who are tracked throughout the process. The TOEIC scores remain valid for two years. 

TOEIC Listening and Reading Test Scores

For the TOEIC result of the Listening and Reading section, it is important to remember that there is no fail or pass. There is a score displayed from 5 to 495 for the Listening Section and Reading Section alike. The total score is between 10 to 990 (in steps of five points). This is a scaled score, calculated with a method known as equating. You can also check the score descriptors for a detailed evaluation of your skill-sets, strengths, and weaknesses.  

TOEIC Speaking and Writing Test Scores

The scores for this section are provided as per the following classifications- Questions 1-9 are rated on a scale of 0-3. Questions 10-11 are rated on a scale of 0-5. The sum of the ratings is converted to a scaled score of 0-200. Eight proficiency levels are provided with a correlation to CEFR levels of A1 to C1. 

Writing Test Score- Questions 1-5 are rated on a scale of 0-3, and Questions 6-7 are rated on a scale of 0-4. Question 8 is rated on a scale of 0-5, while the sum is converted to a scaled score between 0-200. There are nine proficiency levels with a correlation to CEFR levels A1 to C1. 

Mapping TOEIC Scores to CEFR Levels: A1 to C2

Here is a basic guide for mapping TOEIC scores to the CEFR levels (A1 to C2).

TOEIC Bridge Test

The TOEIC Bridge Test is tailored for helping beginners to intermediate learners assess their key English communication skills. Here is the testing format for your perusal. 

  1. Listening Test- 25 minutes and 50 multiple-choice questions with four parts. Part 1 has four pictures and six questions while Part 2 comes with 20 questions. Part 3 has 10 questions for conversations. 
  2. Reading Test- This test requires 35 minutes with 50 multiple-choice questions and three parts. Part 1 is Sentence Completion with 15 questions while Part 2 is Text Completion with 15 questions. Part 3 is Reading Comprehension with 20 questions. 
  3. Speaking Test- This test requires 15 minutes with 8 questions and 6 task types. These are Read a Short Text Aloud (2 questions), Describe a Photograph (2 questions), Listen and Retell (1 question), Short Interaction (1 question), Tell a Story (1 question), and Make and Support a Recommendation (1 question). 
  4. Writing Test- This test covers 37 minutes with 9 questions grouped into five types of tasks. These are Build a Sentence (3 questions), Write a Sentence (3 questions), Respond to a Brief Message (1 question), Write a Narrative (1 question), and Respond to an Extended Message (1 question).
