What is ILFS? The full form of ILFS is Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services. An Indian state-funded infrastructure development and financing organization is called Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Limited (IL&FS). Insurance firms and public sector banks formed it.
It does business through over 250 subsidiaries, such as IL&FS Transportation Networks India Limited (ITNL), IL&FS Investment Managers, and IL&FS Financial Services. Some of the biggest infrastructure projects in India are among its undertakings; the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Tunnel, India's longest tunnel, opened for traffic in April 2017. In 2018, following the company's debt default, the Indian government seized control of the business and installed a new board.
As of 2018, IL&FS has 256 group firms, comprising associate entities, joint venture corporations, and subsidiaries. Despite the company's apparent 23 direct subsidiaries, 141 indirect subsidiaries (including special purpose vehicles for various projects), 6 joint ventures, and 4 associate companies, each of them has additional legal entities that are further divided, with significant cross-ownership as well as ownership by investment vehicles of different governments.
While some of its subsidiaries, like IL&FS Transport, had significant losses in 2018 and struggled to make their loan payments, other companies, including IL&FS Investment Managers, reported profits of ₹72.5 crore in 2018, or 33% after taxes.

- Network / Enterprise Management- The essential business applications will be impacted by the absence of network or server services since modern firms need reliable information to be available in a timely manner. Before they affect corporate operations, network and server managers may find and fix issues and performance bottlenecks with the help of network and enterprise management services. By doing this, unplanned downtimes might be avoided and optimum system uptime could be ensured, benefiting the business.
- Business Continuity Services- Data is the foundation of any firm in the modern information age. Because companies rely so heavily on IT, any disruption to such systems affects business operations and causes the company to come to a complete halt. An outage would result in a loss of business and data, which would damage the organization's reputation with consumers, cost money, and result in fines from regulatory bodies. For every organization, having zero downtime and data availability is crucial. The phrase "BCP/DR" refers to the continuous provision of essential business operations, particularly in the case of an unforeseen incident that materially affects or may potentially disrupt these essential operations.
