What is RAM? The full form of RAM is Random Access Memory .

RAM is sometimes referred to as memory, or PC memory.
RAM is essentially the short-term memory of your laptop or computer.

Your computer processor requires this location of the data in order to execute apps and access files.

RAM, also known as a memory module, is usually found inside your computer as a flat rectangular circuit board with memory chips connected.

Usually, a computer has space for a minimum of two RAM modules and can accommodate more if necessary.  For you to have a positive experience, these RAM modules—which are essential parts that interact with your computer's CPU—must function at their best.

Importance of RAM

  • In the event that your RAM is insufficient for the job at hand—such as opening an image for editing—your computer will start rearranging data in order to access the file.
  • Let's say you were ordered to pick up more tennis balls than you could comfortably hold in your hands on a tennis court.
  • To move them all at once, you need to start moving the balls around and putting them in your arms or pockets.
  • Similar to this, when your computer lacks insufficient RAM, it must transfer data between its slower hard disk, RAM, and processor, which slows down the entire system.
  • The purpose of your computer will determine how much RAM it need. As little as 4 GB will suffice if all you do with it is watch movies and answer emails. But you must start with a minimum of 12 GB of RAM and work your way up if you want to edit images or play video games.
  • Increasing your RAM is among the most affordable methods to make your computer use more enjoyable and productive.
