You can join over 1,200 institutions in countries like the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand in over 6,000 programs with the PTE scorecard. PTE exams are of three types: PTE academic, PTE UKVI, and PTE home.
As many as 38 centers in India organize PTE exams regularly, and students can choose their slots according to their preparation and convenience. This article will discuss some aspects of this exam including PTE exam time duration.
By considering this ongoing pandemic, if the exam had to be rescheduled due to any unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstance, then Pearson will rearrange the exam schedule and slot according to the student's convenience. There is no extra fee for this.
PTE Exam Time Duration
Students are assessed and tested over their listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills in PTE exams. Students are advised to arrive at least 30-40 minutes before the commencement of exams for registration. This includes checking the IDs, scanning the palms, etc.
PTE always sends an email with details about the question types and the time allotted.
- Part 1 of the exam tests students' speaking and writing skills. PTE exam time duration for this section is around 57 to 64 minutes, and questions are based on the personal introduction, image description, short questions, and a 20-minute essay.
- Part 2 tests students' reading skills. Here, questions are like filling in the blanks, rearranging a paragraph, and multiple-choice. Generally, 29 to 30 minutes are allotted for this.
- Part 3 tests students' listening skills. The time allotted for this is around 32 to 43 minutes. This part has questions like summarizing the spoken text, multiple-choice answers, filling in the blanks, selecting the missing words, etc.
The computer-based PTE academic takes 2 hours and 15 minutes to combine all these three rounds.
Things to Carry on Exam Day
There is only one thing that you should carry on the exam day: your ID proof, preferably a passport. It is a must for your security checking and registration.
Some centers provide a locker where you can store your belongings for other items. However, most test centres don't take responsibility for your items. Therefore, it is always advised to leave your valuables back at home or in the hotel. You should only carry the necessary things.
All the other items you will require for the exam, like headphones, pen, paper, etc., are provided by the organizers.

Now that you know everything about the PTE exam time duration, you can prepare yourself better for the exam. It will also prepare you mentally about how much time you will need to solve a particular section. With a hold on basic English and efficient time management, you can hope to score well in the exam.
