How to Register for OET Exam

To register for the OET exam, you must follow these steps:

• Visit the official OET website- oet.com, and using the search feature find an exam location that is convenient for you. 
• To book a test, enter your preferred location (i.e. country/city) and click on Find a Test.
• After you have selected your city/country, you can see results with test mode and distance. 
• Click on Book Now and it will take you to the registration page. 
• The registration is a four-page process where you must enter details like your name, DOB, gender, ID, etc. 
• Once you have filled in all the details, you will be registered/logged in. 
• After completing the registration process, click on Apply for Test at the top of the account dashboard. 
• To complete the test booking for OET, follow the prompts and make the payment within 15 minutes to secure the test booking.

What to do if no Suitable OET Exam Dates are Available

If there are no suitable exam dates available, you can reschedule your OET exam or may even cancel it. Both rescheduling and canceling options are available for candidates taking the test on paper, on a computer, and at home. 

Rescheduling your OET exam date may include changing the exam date to another date and/or changing the venue. It can also include changing the delivery mode (paper/computer/home). You can book a rescheduling or cancel on all subsets or just a speaking sub-set for the OET. Once your rescheduling or cancellation is confirmed, you cannot reverse it. 

How to Change or Reschedule Your OET Exam Date

In case where you wish to prepone or postpone your scheduled exam due to unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances, you should know how to reschedule the OET exam date.

If you are appearing for a paper-based OET exam:

• You can reschedule your exam date by logging into your OET account. 
• Under the My Applications section, click on the Action column and select defer. 
• Choose your new date and/or venue and click confirm. 
• You can reschedule your exam date up to 23.59 pm the day before the test. Otherwise, you can use the Test Day Deferral form on the test day to change the exam date.

If you are appearing for a computer-based OET exam:

• Log into your OET account (as mentioned above).
• Click on My Bookings tab.
• Find the OET exam booking that you want to reschedule and select Reschedule Booking. 
• For computer-based OET, you will be asked to reschedule all sub-tests or the speaking sub-test only. Choose the option you like. 
• Confirm the new date and go further to the payment process. 
• You can reschedule the test two days before your first sub-test. 

NOTE: Once the test has been rescheduled, it cannot be reversed. Also, if you have taken one sub-test, you cannot reschedule your remaining sub-tests. 

OET Exam Fees 

The OET exam fee is an important factor that candidates need to consider before registering for the exam. The OET exam costs AU$587 (or US$ 455 if you take the test on a computer at a venue or at home in the US), including a range of services the exam conducting body provides. 

Candidates can pay the OET exam fee online through the official website using various payment modes such as credit cards, debit cards, or net banking. Once the payment is made, the candidate will receive a confirmation email with the exam date, time, and venue details.

Finding OET Exam Centres & Dates Near You

To find OET exam centers near you, you can go to the online booking portal and click ‘Book a Test.’ Then, select ‘Search For a Test Near You’, where you can enter your preferred location by clicking on ‘Find a Test.’ 

After you select your location, you can view their test modes (on paper/on computer) and venue details. Based on the exam mode you’re choosing, you can view the exam dates. Both paper-based exam dates and computer-based exam dates for OET 2024 are present. 

OET Exam 2024 Preparation Tips

To ace OET exam 2024 in a go, you can follow these tips:

1. Use Memory Recall Practice: When you are preparing for the OET exam, you should consider revisiting old topics along with learning new ones. Dedicate your time to writing down the things you remember from the previous lessons so you are thorough with the topics. 
2. Quick Reading to Understand the Overall Message: Reading is a subset of OET and the texts that you have to read are about general healthcare interests. With quick reading, you can focus on the general message of the text, and you will be able to understand what the writer is trying to communicate, which is the aim of this sub-test. 
3. Be Focused: For the listening part of the OET exam, you need to be focused as it deals with multiple-choice questions. The listening part will have audio (presentations for interviews). Based on these audios, you will be asked multiple-choice questions. It is thus important that you listen to the audio carefully.
