What is BMBS? The full form of BMBS is Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. A Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree is known as the BMBS. Various UK universities refer to this differently, using terms like MBBS or MB ChB. A BMBS is the equivalent of an MD, or doctor of medicine, in the US. A medical degree typically lasts five years, though this might change if a student is enrolled in a graduate entrance program or has completed a foundation year. Students won't need to study extra to earn a second degree because the majority of the courses offer an integrated BMedSci, and universities provide some of the quickest paths to become doctors.
