485 Australian visa

The 485 Australian visa is given for a temporary period. While pursuing education abroad in Australia, there are four types of visas that one can get depending on the nature of study and occupation under subclass 485. These include Graduate Work Stream Visa, Post-Study Work Stream Visa, Second Post Study Work Stream, and replacement Stream.

  1. Graduate Work Stream Visa

If they have already completed graduation and want to move to Australia for a job for a limited time then the students can apply for this visa. This visa allows students to study, work, and live in Australia for up to 18 months. However, if you have a Hong Kong and British National Overseas passport, then you can stay for 5 years. This visa costs around AUD 1895.00. 

  1. Post-Study Work Stream Visa

One can apply for this visa if one graduated from an Australian institute. With this visa, they can stay for 2-4 years and it costs AUD 1895

  1. Second Post Study Work Stream Visa

This visa applies to students who have graduated from an Australian institute situated in the regional area of the country. It allows students to stay for 1-4 years and the cost for this is AUD 745.00. 

  1. Replacement Stream

Visa under replacement stream is for students who have lost time on their original visa due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. This visa allows the students to stay anytime between 18 months to 6 years and costs approximately AUD 1895.

407 visa Australia

If one is a foreign student wanting to study at an Australian university, they can also apply for the 407 Australian Visa. However, with this visa, one will be able to stay in the country for 2 years and it will cost approximately AUD 405.00 for the main application. 

With the help of this visa, it is possible to complete work-related training or any professional development training.

Requirements for Australia subclass 500

When applying for an Australia subclass 500 Visa one will need to:

  • Apply online in or outside of Australia
  •  need to be 6 years or older
  • If the person is under 18, then he or she will need to provide proof of welfare arrangements
  • If someone is already in Australia, then they will need to showcase an eligible substantive visa
  • People can only apply for this visa if they are enrolling in a course in Australia and have an Overseas Student Health Cover. If someone falls under the exception category then he or she is also eligible to apply for this visa.

Requirements for Australia subclass 485

The requirement for Australia subclass 485 is also very simple:

  • If a person has a Bachelor's or higher degree to prove their education from abroad, then they  can apply for this visa
  • They can work in Australia 
  • To qualify for the visa, they will need to hold qualifications relevant to occupations mentioned in the skilled occupation list

Requirements for Australia subclass 407

An applicant will need to follow the following requirements to be eligible to get an Australia subclass 407 Visa:

  • The students will have to be sponsored
  • They  will have to be nominated (unless the sponsor is a Commonwealth Government Agency)
  • They  will need to be invited if the sponsor is a Commonwealth Government Agency 

Application Process for the Australian Student Visa 

There is a step-by-step process that needs to be followed to get different types of Australian student visas. The process will start with

  • Reviewing the Letter of Offer received from the university that has been chosen to pursue education
  • A copy of the Confirmation of Enrolment provided by the University has to be submitted at the time of the application process 
  • The student will need to prove their English Proficiency by providing a certificate of result from an approved English language test (IELTS)
  • Along with this, they will need to satisfy the Genuine Student requirements. These will include 
  • Providing details of current circumstances including community, employment circumstances, family, and economic circumstances
  • How will they benefit from this course?
  • Details of study history in Australia
  • If they already have a visa other than a student visa, then they will need to clarify the reasons for applying for a student visa
  • Any other necessary information
  • The students will need to mention their financial capacity and provide proof of having at least AUD 29710
  • Other than this, an Overseas Student Health Cover is needed and they will need to be in good health 
  • Certain character requirements will need to be fulfilled
  • Lastly, the applicants will have to apply through Immi Account  and check the travel requirements
