The University of Strathclyde is one of the best public research institutions in Glasgow, Scotland. Glasgow's second-oldest higher education institution was established in 1796 as the Andersonian Institute. It was granted a royal charter in 1964 as the first technological university in the UK.
Moreover, it ranks at 325 and #281 in the 2024 QS World University and Times Higher Education World University rankings respectively. It is also ranked at #432 in the Best Global Universities list of U.S. News for 2024. It is Scotland's third-largest university in terms of enrollment, with faculty and students originating from more than 100 different nations. Its name is derived from the former Kingdom of Strathclyde. Up until 2012, when the Jordanhill site was closed and everything was moved to the John Anderson Campus, the institution maintained two campuses: the John Anderson Campus and the Jordanhill Campus.
