Each year, many international students apply to become a part of universities in English-speaking countries such as Canada, the US, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. These countries are a hub for education for various advanced courses and offer rewarding professional opportunities. IELTS, or International English Language Testing System, is a test taken by students or professionals who intend to study or work in these destinations. A good IELTS score indicates your command of the language, reflecting your comfort level in the country. Sending IELTS scores to universities is paramount to securing admission, and scoring well is another criterion to take into consideration.
IELTS has four sections on which you are marked. These are:
- Writing
- Speaking
- Listening
- Reading
The total IELTS score is the average of all four sections. An overall score of 6.5 is considered a decent score across universities globally.
