The full form of CLAT is the Common Law Admission Test. CLAT is a concentrated public-level government entrance test for admissions to national law universities in India. Most self-financed and private law schools in India also use these scores for entry into the law.

  • The CLAT question paper is based on five subjects: English Language, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. 
  • The weights for all these subjects in the CLAT question paper will differ, but they are equally important. 
  • CLAT 2024-2025 Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Programs. A candidate should have passed through 10+2 or any comparable test with the following percentage: 45% marks for candidates in the General/OBC/Specially abled Persons (SAP) category. 40% marks for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST category.
  • To qualify for the CLAT 2024-2025 undergrad programs, a candidate should have breezed through 10+2 or any identical test with the following percentage:

40% marks for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST category.

  • CLAT is a highly competitive exam often considered one of the toughest to crack. However, with the right preparation and attitude, it can be achieved. 
  • Indian public sector companies such as Coal India, ONGC, BHEL, the Indian Steel Authority, Oil India, etc., use CLAT postgraduate scores to fill company legal positions. 
  • The test is carried out in law schools after the 12th grade or Higher Secondary Examination for admission to integrated U.G. programs and after graduation in law LLM (Law for Master of Laws) in law schools.
