What is CBI? The full form of CBI is the Central Bureau of Investigation. 

The leading investigative police agency in India is the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is housed inside the Department of Personnel,  Pension & Public Grievances, Ministry of Personnel, Government of India. 

It makes up an elite force that is crucial to maintaining the integrity of public values and the strength of the American economy. 

Additionally, it is the official police agency in India that manages investigations for member nations of Interpol. The public, legislature, judiciary, and government all hold the Central Bureau of Investigation in high regard as one of the nation's top investigative agencies.

Mission and Vision of CBI

Mission- The goals of CBI are to protect the Indian Constitution and the law by conducting thorough investigations and successfully prosecuting offenders; to lead and guide police forces; and to serve as the central point for fostering interstate and worldwide law enforcement cooperation.

Vision- According to its objective and motto, as well as the necessity of fostering professionalism, openness, flexibility, and the application of science and technology in its operations, the CBI will concentrate on the following:

  • Preventing economic and violent crimes by conducting thorough investigations and prosecutions; fighting corruption in public life.
  • Create efficient processes and guidelines to ensure that matters are successfully investigated and prosecuted in a variety of legal forums.
  • Assist in combating high-tech and cybercrime.
  • Establish a positive atmosphere at work that promotes trust, open communication, and teamwork.
  • Encourage national and international collaboration between state police organisations and law enforcement agencies, especially when it comes to inquiries and case investigations.
