• It grew from two buildings to a sophisticated campus in the 20th century with a beaux arts architectural style, including a plethora of machine shops, studios, and labs — the experiential learning hub that still exists today.
• Along with visual art and design disciplines, it was the first to offer conservatory degree programs in music and theater. At Carnegie Tech, the nation's first theatrical degree was granted in 1914.
