Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) Rankings 2025
Ireland
Established on January 1, 2019, Technological University Dublin, also known as TU Dublin, is the first technological university in Ireland. Its history dates back to 1887 when the City of Dublin Technical Schools, Ireland's first technical education institution, merged to form the Dublin Institute of Technology. With 28,500 students, it's the second-biggest third-level university in Ireland.
Three already-existing technical institutes in the Dublin region—the Dublin Institute of Technology, the Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown, and the Institute of Technology, Tallaght—were combined to form the university, which assumed full responsibility for its operations and functions. Located in County Dublin, it is the fourth university in Ireland and the ninth overall. With two other long-term campuses in Tallaght and Blanchardstown, as well as surviving heritage sites at Bolton Street and Aungier Street, the flagship campus is situated within Grangegorman, Dublin. TU Dublin employs about 3,500 people.
Across the five campuses, there are over forty student-run organizations, such as the Gaelic Athletic Association, football, handball, cricket, basketball, kite surfing, powerlifting, archery, and rowing.
