The University of Victoria, situated in the municipalities of Oak Bay and Saanich, British Columbia, Canada, is a public research university. It is the oldest post-secondary university in British Columbia. Originally founded in 1903 as Victoria College, a McGill University affiliated college, it attained full autonomy and status as a degree-granting institution under a charter on July 1, 1963.
The University of Victoria campus is one of the biggest in the city and is spread out over a lush area. One of Canada's top cities for international students is Victoria, where the campus is located.
At the University of Victoria, there are more than 280-degree, certificate, diploma, and PhD program options available to international students. Around 80 undergraduate and more than 160 graduate courses are available at the university. The university's 11 faculties and departments each house one of these programs. The institution offers a number of well-regarded courses in education, the fine arts, engineering, social sciences, business management, and arts and humanities.
