Awards and Financial Aid assists students in obtaining the funds required to pay for their studies at UNBC and offers services related to educational budgeting. Applications for the annual 2024–2025 prize competition for the 2024–2025 academic year are no longer being accepted; the competition has closed. These are available for Bachelor's and Master's degrees in every subject area that the universities provide. Applying for this scholarship is available here. The deadline varies for submitting your application.

Benefit:

Education Future is the provider of this scholarship, which has a partial funding value of between INR 2 lakhs and INR 10 lakhs. 

Eligibility:

• The candidate must be an Indian citizen and hold a current Indian passport.
• A minimum of 60% should have been earned by the applicant in the 10th and 12th grades.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, India, is offering this scholarship. Each recipient may receive up to 3 lac in funding, which is considered partial funding.

• A financial scholarship incentive of up to 3 lakh Rupees per student will be given to the winners.

Eligibility:

• The candidate must be an Indian citizen and hold a current Indian passport.
• Candidates must have received at least a 55% in their 10th and 12th grades.
• For now, the applicant DOES NOT NEED to present the confirmation of their admission to a foreign university. It can be turned in at a later time to still receive the scholarship money.

University of Northern British Columbia Scholarship for International Students

1. International Major Entrance Scholarship (IMES)

Outstanding international students enrolled in UBC's undergraduate programs are given the opportunity to apply for International Major Entrance Scholarships (IMES). When a student enrolls in UBC for the first time, they receive their IMES, which they can keep for up to three more years of study. Depending on the amount of money available, different scholarships are given out each year in different amounts.

The IMES awards for the 2024–2025 academic year will range from $10,000 to $20,000 per year.

• Must be a first-time student at UBC who came straight out of secondary school.

2. Outstanding International Student Award

A one-time merit-based entrance scholarship known as the Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award is given to deserving applicants upon receiving an admissions offer from UBC. Students that are chosen for this honor exhibit both academic strength and extracurricular activity.

The OIS awards for the 2024–2025 academic year will range from $10,000 to $25,000.

Eligibility:

In order to be given an OIS Award, you had to:

• Must be a new student at UBC, having come directly from secondary school or a post-secondary institution (college or university).

University of Northern British Columbia Scholarship for Graduate Students

Below is a list of University of Northern British Columbia graduate scholarships:

1. Graduate Entrance Research Scholarship (GERS) 

Candidates for master's or doctoral programs at UNBC will be given consideration for this prize if they fulfill the eligibility requirements. Although there isn't an application to fill out, not every student will be given this prize.  

Benefit:

These scholarships, worth $17,500 apiece, are offered to full-time students enrolled in UNBC's Master's or PhD programs for the first time and who have never received an entrance award before. 

Eligibility:

In order to be eligible for a grant, students must intend to enroll in a project-based or thesis-based degree. A Graduate Admission GPA of 3.67 or higher and compatibility with UNBC's research interests are the only criteria used for consideration.

2. BC Graduate Scholarship Program (BCGSP) for Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents

The Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills (the ministry) awards merit-based scholarships to outstanding students enrolled in professional graduate programs with a focus on research.

Benefit:

These grants, which have a value of $17,500.00 each, are given to full-time students starting a Master's or Doctoral degree at the University of Northern British Columbia. 

Eligibility:

To receive this award, you need to be follow the eligibility criteria provide below:

• By September 1st, 2024, students must be enrolled in graduate-level programs and have completed 0–12 months of coursework. 
• Students must be either permanent residents or citizens of Canada. 
• Prior to starting their program, students are not eligible to have received a BC Graduate Scholarship or any other UNBC entrance award.

Students starting their first undergraduate program at the University of Northern British Columbia are eligible to apply for admission prizes. The UNBC Admission Unit's admission average will be used to evaluate new students. Candidates are assessed using their grade point average for courses taken throughout the academic year, or their annual GPA. If there is a tie, the student who has finished more courses successfully during the term under consideration will be given preference.

How Scholarships are Awarded at the University of Northern British Columbia

The applications are ranked in order by the Scholarship Review Committee after they have been evaluated and scored.
