1) The students need to attain 18 years of age before starting the degree program.

2) Students should have scored at least 60-65% marks in 12th exams. They should also have high band scores in language proficiency tests like IELTS, TOEFL, etc.

3) Students need to submit documents like mark sheets of class 10th and 12th, resume, statement of purpose (SOP), the score of GMAT/TOEFL/ IELTS, and documents of accomplishment at the state or national level.

4) For Visa, students need to submit certain documents like records of availability of funds, resume, academic certificates, genuine temporary entrant (GTE) requirement, and eCoE letter.

5) Students also need to write a statement of purpose (SOP) in which they need to explain why they want to apply for a particular college.

Academic Cycle for Australian Universities

Australia has two intakes i.e. February and July, with only a few universities offering multiple intakes in September & November. In general, the application deadlines are October-November for February intake and April-May for July intake. Each university has its own university admission cycle, so, the application deadlines may vary. Process of Getting Australian Students Visa after 12th

Indian students who want to pursue their higher studies in Australia after class 12 can avail different types of student visas depending on the stream of education the candidate is willing to study. Any Indian student desiring to pursue their higher studies in Australia will require a student visa (subclass 500) designed specifically for students who are prepared to further their education in Australia. The steps of applying for a study visa in Australia are given below- 

1. The first step is to apply to the Australian university/institute of your choice and get the Confirmation of Enrollment or CoE. After you apply, you will receive an offer letter from the institute confirming the payment of your course fees and accepting your registration. If you plan to apply for multiple courses, you will require CoE for every program. 

2. Next, you will have to create an account with the Immigration Authorities of Australia before you can start the visa application process. You can create your account online by visiting the official website.

3. While applying for your student visa, you will have to submit your application at least 12 weeks before the orientation date of your respective institution. For the Australian student visa application, you will require the following documents- 

a) CoE by your institution

b) OSHC health insurance

c) A valid passport

d) Four passport-size photographs

e) Proofs for a temporary stay corroborated by documents from your home institute

f) A visa application form

4. You may be required to submit some additional documents such as your birth certificate, income certificate, academic records, etc., based on the region you are applying to. 

5. Online Application Form needs to be completed. 

6. You will have to complete the procedure at least 124 days before the commencement of the course, the date of which will be mentioned on your CoE. Once the student visa application is submitted successfully, you will be required to pay the visa fee of AUD 550, after which you will be allocated a Transaction Reference Number (TRN) for your application. 

7. You will then undergo a health checkup based on the study program you have chosen, the information for which will be given to you after submitting your visa application. You will require your TRN number for the completion of the health checkup.

Scholarships for studying in Australia after 12th

1. Australian Government Scholarships

To promote student mobility and diversity, the Australian government offers several scholarships, grants, and bursaries which can help support international students financially. 

2. University of Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship

It is awarded to academically bright international students. All applicants are automatically considered for this award that provides 100% or 50% fee waiver for the three-year undergraduate course. There could be an alternative option of a tuition fee remission of AUD 10,000 for the first year of the course. 

3. Swinburne University

The university offers Swinburne International Excellence Undergraduate scholarships to international students pursuing UG courses. The amount is up to AUD 38,000 for the whole course tenure. 

4. Monash International Leadership Scholarship

This is given to international students starting their UG courses at the university and covers 100% of tuition costs. 

5. Monash University Scholarship

The Merit Scholarship is given to 31 international students every year and these individual scholarships are valued at up to AUD 50,000. These are awarded based on academic performance. 

6. Sydney Scholars India Equity Scholarship

It is given by the institution to Indian students starting UG courses. 3 UG students can get this scholarship of up to AUD 50,000 per year for a period of four years. 10 UG and PG students from India will also have eligibility for a scholarship value of AUD 20,000 in the first year. 15 other UG and PG students may get up to AUD 10,000. 

7. The University of Sydney Vice-Chancellor International Scholarships Scheme

 This is given by the institution to international students applying for UG/PG courses with CRICOS registration. Only four scholarships are provided annually. 

8. Australian Catholic University International Student Scholarship

This is for international students at the UG and PG levels. 20 scholarships are provided annually, with amounts equating to 50% of overall tuition costs. 

9. Australian National University Study Canberra Scholarship

It is given to Indian students in UG or PG programs at the institution. Academic merit is the basis for granting the scholarship with amounts going up to AUD 10,000. 

10. Griffith University

The Griffith Remarkable Scholarships are given to international students at both UG and PG levels. It ensures coverage for 50% of tuition costs throughout the entire course tenure.

Part-time Work Opportunities for International Students in Australia
