Undergraduate Admission Requirements

If you are a first-year student who wants to apply to Pittsburgh’s undergraduate studies, you must meet the following University of Pittsburgh admissions requirements:

• Send in your admissions application. Pitt accepts both the Common Application and the University of Pittsburgh Application for this; we have no preference.
• Pay the $55 application cost.
• Send in your academic record, self-reported (SRAR).

Admission to the University of Pittsburgh for Indian students and international students requires additional test scores, like proof of English language proficiency. A 7.0 IELTS with subscores of 6.0 or higher, a 125 or higher Duolingo score, or a 95 or higher TOEFL composite score with subscores of 20 or higher are considered competitive for the Pittsburgh campus.

However, applications are evaluated holistically, and candidates with a high academic record and a 90–94 TOEFL score will be given special attention throughout the Pittsburgh campus admissions process. Most commonly, candidates who score in the 80–89 range on the TOEFL (6.5 on the IELTS, 115–120 on Duolingo) will be given consideration for admission to one of the regional campuses in Bradford, Greensburg, or Johnstown. University of Pittsburgh Admission Process

Every student receives an enrolment appointment, which specifies the day and time that enrolment can start. The scheduling of these visits is determined by the total amount of credits that each student has obtained. (Students who have completed the most credits will be assigned the earliest appointments.) You have 24 hours a day to register online after your enrolment appointment. Prior to the commencement of the term for which you are enrolled, you must register for classes.
