Located in Findlay, Ohio, the University of Findlay (UF) is a private Christian university. It was founded in 1882 as a result of an alliance between the city of Findlay and the Churches of God General Conference. Nearly 80 undergraduate programs at the baccalaureate level are available at UF, along with 11 master's degree programs and five doctorate-level programs. Findlay has over 4,200 enrolled students from about 35 countries, with about 500 of those students being international. There are about 1,250 students that reside in university accommodation on campus. There are five off-campus sites plus a 76-acre main campus at the University of Findlay.
The first bachelor's degree in hazardous waste studies—now known as environmental, safety, and occupational health management—was established in the country by the University of Findlay. Expanding from that original program, the All Hazards Training Center has given over 100,000 people from a variety of backgrounds practical training scenarios, including government officials and leaders in the sector involved in emergency planning, response, and recovery.
Nearly 100 student organizations exist, including Greek sororities and fraternities, club sports, 25 intramural sports, performing arts groups, service clubs, student government, special interest clubs, and academic honorary organizations. The school also hosts concerts of vocal and instrumental music, art exhibits, and theater shows.
