The University at Buffalo, also known as SUNY Buffalo and sometimes the University at Buffalo, is a public research university that has campuses in Amherst and Buffalo. The college was established as a private medical school in 1846, and it joined the State University of New York system in 1962. It is one of the two SUNY system's premier institutions.
About 140 undergraduate, 55 combined, 220 postgraduate, and 95 doctorate degree programs are offered at the University at Buffalo. Additionally, the university collaborates with 96 other universities worldwide to offer 1,000 study abroad programs. The University at Buffalo's top-notch academic facilities enable more dynamic and career-focused programs.
There are three different areas where the University of Buffalo has campuses, with North Campus being the biggest. Both undergraduate and graduate students have a variety of on-campus alternatives at the University at Buffalo. The majority of University at Buffalo freshmen live in the Governors, Ellicott Complex, or South Campus Halls their first year before transferring to Greiner Hall for their sophomore year and onto the university's on-campus residences for their junior and senior years.
