About the University
In Hoboken, New Jersey, Stevens Institute of Technology is a private research university. One of the earliest colleges in America completely devoted to mechanical engineering, it was established in 1870 and is one among the oldest technological universities in the country. The 55-acre campus is home to 43 academic, student, and administrative facilities in addition to Castle Point, which is Hoboken's highest point. Over 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students from 47 states and 60 nations in Asia, Europe, and Latin America are enrolled at Stevens, which was founded through an 1868 donation from Edwin Augustus Stevens.
The School of Systems and Enterprises, the Charles V. Schaefer Jr. The School of Engineering and Science, the School of Business, and the College of Arts and Letters are the four academic divisions that make up Stevens. Stevens University has a student-to-faculty ratio of 12:1 and offers 35 undergraduate programs. Graduate options include 58 master's programs, 194 certificate programs, 20 Ph.D. programs (plus three interdisciplinary programs), 58 master's programs, and graduate-level offerings specifically created for enterprises.
