Acceptance rate

A minimal benchmark grade is requested from candidates, with half of those accepted to East Carolina University having an SAT score between 1000 and 1200 or an ACT score between 17 and 23. If that is achieved, East Carolina University's admissions process is less stringent and it has a 94% acceptance rate.

How the university evaluates applicants

The GPA and English language proficiency scores are the main evaluation parameters for the university along with GMAT, SAT, or GRE scores. Past academic records of students are also taken into account.

• Complete the ECU Application, CFNC, or Common App online application accessible through the official university website
• Pay the Non-refundable application fee of $75. 
• Submit your GPA and official academic transcripts. 
• Fill in details of the senior year courses that are you taking. 

Application deadline

The deadline for final priority applications for freshmen is April 1, 2023. The deadline to be eligible to apply to the Honors College is November 1, 2022. In this case, the transcripts must be received by the college within this date. Additionally, the deadline to qualify to apply for further merit-based university scholarships is December 15, 2022.
