Durham University, located in Durham, England, is a public collegiate research university. It was established in 1832 by a parliamentary act and incorporated in 1837 by royal charter. After Oxford and Cambridge, it was the first accredited university to open in England for over 600 years, making it, according to accepted historical standards, England's third-oldest institution.
Durham University's four faculties—Business, Arts and Humanities, Science, and Social Science and Health—offer a variety of programs. 200 undergraduate courses, 100 graduate courses, and numerous research degrees are among them. Over 26 departments and 17 unique residential and academic community colleges are present.
The Durham City and Queen's Campuses in Stockton comprise the two main parts of the Durham University campus. A UNESCO world heritage site for the university includes the Cathedral, the Castle, the Palace Green, and numerous amazing structures. There are 17 colleges that offer undergraduate and graduate-level programs. At Durham University, more than 700 students put in more than 14,000 hours of voluntary work annually.
