In 1997, Abertay University became the first college in the world to grant a degree in computer games. Since then, a variety of courses have been offered, although computer games and graphic design continue to receive a lot of attention. The university has collaborations in place for gaming with Perfect World Entertainment and the Communication University of China.
Located in the seaside city of Dundee, in eastern Scotland, the university is one of two public universities in the country. International students make up about 20% of the university's student body, with a combined representation of 60 nations.
