Undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate students can choose from a variety of programs and degrees offered by UPEI's two schools (Climate Change & Adaptation and Mathematical & Computational Sciences) and seven faculties (business, education, nursing, science, sustainable design engineering, and veterinary medicine).
In the fields of business administration, computer science, physics, and dietetics, cooperative programs have been formed. The Memorial University of Newfoundland and the University are currently collaborating to establish a Faculty of Medicine. The Atlantic Veterinary College initially offered master's and doctoral degree programs, and the Faculty of Science started offering a master of science degree in 1999. The new Master of Education program at the university saw its initial admissions that same year.
