Thompson Rivers University (TRU), established in 1970, is a public institution offering graduate and undergraduate degrees, along with vocational training. The main campus of the university is located in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada.
The university got its name from two rivers that converge in Kamloops, namely the South Thompson and the North Thompson. 140 on-campus courses are backed up by approximately 60 distance or online programs through the Open Learning Division. These include vocational certificates, trade apprenticeships, masters and bachelor’s degrees, and Law courses. The University has more than 12,000 students on its rolls.
