The Master of Communication (Professional) is designed for international students who would like to develop or enhance their expertise in the rapidly expanding field of professional communication. Students take subjects in advertising, public relations, social media, human communication theory, relational communication, organisational communication and leadership, and research methods and data visualisation. They also conduct a research project of their own choosing and engage in a 20-week professional portfolio capstone of either 1) a work-integrated learning opportunity to participate in a field project and produce a report and showcase portfolio, or 2) undertake a supervised professional portfolio project. Throughout the degree, students develop theoretical knowledge and practical skills in professional communication to equip them for roles in advertising, public relations, new media, research, leadership, and internal communication in private, public, and non-profit organisations.

The first year of the Master of Communication comprises industry relevant and informed courses covering emerging communication discipline areas including: Communication and Media: Advanced Social Media Management Digital Design Communication Contexts Content Creation Campaigns and Crisis Management Professional Communication In your second year, you will undertake an 18-unit professional project supported by a supervisor and industry partner.
