Forbes, known for its lists and rankings worldwide, has released its 14th Annual list of America’s Top Colleges. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has bagged the top spot. This is the first time MIT has topped the US college rankings in Forbes.
The other top-ranked universities are Stanford, University of California – Berkley, Princeton, and Columbia University, at 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th positions.
Emma Whitford, a Senior Education Reporter at Forbes, said, “We know that a college degree is a significant investment for any student and one that’s been compounded by recent years of financial turmoil for many. This list reflects the public and private universities that are going above and beyond to deliver on that investment.”
The global media company ranked 498 US colleges this time. Those featured in the list are public, private, and Ivy League colleges.
The colleges and universities this year have been assessed on several parameters such as return on investment, alumni salaries, outcomes delivered to students, debt ratio, degree delivered on time, and others.
