Accreditation, Number of Students and Faculties

The Higher Learning commission has continuously accredited the University of New Mexico, since 1922. Some of the other program accreditation of the University include 1) Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics, 2) Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, 3) Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, 4) American Bar Association, Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, 5) American Occupational Therapy Association, Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy, 6) American Occupational Therapy Association, Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education 7) American Psychological Association, Commission on Accreditation, 8) Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education 9) Council on Education for Public Health 10) Liaison Committee on Medical Education and so on. The total undergraduate enrollment of the university is 15,336, and there are more than 6,500 administrative staff in the university. The student-faculty ratio of the university is 13:1.  

University Campus, Facilities, Labs and Courses

With an urban setting, the University of New Mexico has a campus size of 769 acres. The main university campus is located in Albuquerque, and they are separated in three different parts- north, central and south. The central campus is where the main academic university is The North Campus incorporates law, pharmacological and nursing schools. The South Campus, on the other hand, incorporates most of the athletic facilities of the university. The primary UNM library, and departmental libraries are some of the important features of the University. There are many facilities offered to the students of the University of New Mexico and some of these include student union, student housing, dining on campus, lobocash and lobocard, and so on. Some of the other facilities include student organizations, student government, planning and events, event media, movies and so on. Admission Eligibility Criteria

Following are the admission eligibility criteria of the University of New Mexico:

  • The applicants need a cumulative high school GPA of 2.75, on a scale of 4.0 in order to get an admission in the University of New Mexico. 
  • If the GPA requirements of the applicants are not met, they are required to take SAT or ACT tests. 
  • The ACT composite score of the applicants must be 21, and their SAT score must be 1060. 
  • The applicants must be ranked in the top 20% of the graduating class, in order to get an admission in the University of New Mexico. 
  • International applicants must take an English Proficiency test.
