1. Submit either the Common Application or the transfer application online. Ensure all sections, including the essay, are filled out accurately.
2. Provide official transcripts or documents covering four years of high school or secondary school (grades 9-12). If sent by mail, transcripts must be in a sealed envelope stamped by the school. Test results should be sent directly from the testing agency or your high school.
3. The SAT and ACT scores are optional but they can bolster your application.
4. If you're a transfer student, include an essay with your transfer application and submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you've attended. Otterbein prefers electronic submission of transcripts. High school transcripts are only necessary if you have earned less than 30 semester hours or less than 45 quarter hours of college credit after high school.
5. Upon acceptance, you'll be asked to submit supporting documents like official bank statements, a financial affidavit, and a copy of your passport and current visa (if applicable).
6. Non-native English speakers must demonstrate English proficiency through official test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo, etc.).
7. If your university transcripts are from outside the United States, a course-by-course evaluation from recognized agencies like SpanTran, WES, Scholaro, or ECE is required.
