North Carolina Central University: Rankings, Courses & Admissions

The urban campus is situated roughly three miles east of Duke University and about a mile south of Durham, North Carolina's downtown. There are 12 honor societies and 130 listed student organizations at the university. Almost sixty per cent of graduate students and almost all undergraduates choose to live on campus. The supportive living and educational settings of NCCU are well served with 2,800 beds, 86 resident assistants, and professional staff.

North Carolina Central University's Residential Division takes pleasure in being able to provide students with inexpensive, pleasant housing. Apartment-style, suite-style, and conventional resident halls are all the available options for lodging.

Students may apply after the deadline of January 15 until the class size is filled because NCCU accepts applications on a rolling basis. However, applicants must fulfil the following requirements to be considered for admission. 

• To be eligible for admission, all applicants must meet the University of North Carolina's (UNC) minimal criteria
• Four-course modules in English with a focus on grammar, composition, and literature
• Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and a fourth mathematics course that is higher than Algebra II, or Algebra I, Algebra II, and two more mathematics courses that are higher than Algebra II
• Three-course units in science, at least one of which must be in a lab.
• Two-course units in a foreign language
• Two-course units in social studies, at least one of which should be in American history.

The following documents must be produced by the applicant while applying to the desired degree courses at North Carolina Central University-

• Official transcripts of high school and its relevant translated documents, if not in English
• A financial statement
• Statement of purpose
• Letters of recommendation

Exam Requirements for North Carolina Central University

The following test scores are mandatory and must be submitted when applying to the courses at NCCU-

• The minimum high school GPA required for applying to NCCU is 3.35 on a scale of 4.0
• Applicants must secure at least 450 in SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing
• Graduate applicants must produce their GMAT or GRE test scores
• Undergraduate international students must secure 500 in TOEFL PBT, 79 in TOEFL IBT, or 6 bands in IELTS
• Graduate international students must secure 550 in TOEFL PBT, 61 in TOEFL IBT, or 6 bands in IELTS
