The University of Gloucestershire even has its Luminescence dating laboratory within the School of Natural and Social Sciences. The laboratory conducts both applied and pure research with numerous collaborations, publications and projects with clients of the dating service. 

The language of instruction at the university is English. 

Academics

The University of Gloucestershire invites its applications in two sessions every year, namely winter and spring. For most undergraduate programs, the deadline is January (for courses beginning in September). The maximum deadline is 30th June in most cases. 

The University of Gloucestershire admission process is simple and covers the following steps: 

1. You may apply via UCAS and other portals or directly at the university. 

2. You have to submit the online application form, pay the application fee and then submit all your documents including English language proficiency scores and academic transcripts. 

3. Post submission, you can begin looking for accommodation along with taking care of things like scholarships/funding and the student visa formalities. 

4. It may require 4-6 weeks for offer letters to arrive. After accepting the same and paying the semester fees, you can apply to get your visa approved. Thereafter it will be time to book your flight tickets.

Here are the University of Gloucestershire admission requirements: 

1. Applicants may either complete an online English course before the session or take the university’s online English test which has Listening, Writing, Speaking and Reading sections. Tests come for £80 (INR 8,000) and are only applicable if you do not have English language proficiency scores. 

2. Applicants require at least IELTS 6.0 for bachelor’s courses while it may increase to 7.0 for many specific programs. Postgraduate courses may require IELTS 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each section. Some programs may also require IELTS 7.0. 

3. Other acceptable qualifications include ISE II/III, B2 Pass in LanguageCert SELT, and B2 in Skills for English-UKVI-Student Visa Test. 

4. Indian students will require their ISC/Higher Secondary/Standard XII degree with at least 65% for undergraduate courses. For postgraduate courses, they will need a 3/4 year bachelor’s degree with at least 55-60% marks. 

5. PhD students will need a 3/4 year bachelor’s degree with 55-60% marks and successful completion of a master’s degree with good grades in a similar subject area. They can alternatively hold work experience, which is needed by many programs along with a portfolio of work. Research proposals are also needed for admissions. 

The University of Gloucestershire's acceptance rate is 80.8% for female applicants and 87% for male applicants (both full-time) as per the 2018-19 figures. 79% of applications received a university offer in the BAME category of full-time applicants for the year.
