BA (Hons) Sustainable Fashion and Management is a needed, educational directive that focuses on re-contextualising the process of design analysis, development and production in fashion education.

Consumption of new clothing is at an all-time high in the UK. We consume over 10kg more per capita than any other country within Europe. (Fixing Fashion - 2019 govt. report). The culture of throw away products is now an area of grave concern, with Barnado's alone receiving around 100,000 bags a week of used garments. 

The professional designer of today and tomorrow needs to focus on their ability to design systems and products that utilise existing garments and digital technologies in order to tackle the humanitarian crisis of overconsumption. BA (Hons) Sustainable Fashion and Management focuses on the use of existing garments as a material resource.

The BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing course provides you with the current knowledge and practical skills required for a career in marketing and the lifestyle industries. Along with the creative process associated with maximising profit and value to a community-based initiative or fashion related business, you will identify how local and global brands communicate to their consumers, and deconstruct how and why economic, environmental and societal factors, contribute to brand loyalty, consumer engagement and their values, along with the revenue this generates to our creative industries and government.

BA (Hons) Fashion Product Management and Innovation will offer a focused curriculum of study that allows you to research and explore the development of materials and apparel created for utilization within the fashion industry. Referencing a variety of module structures that explore garment shape, textile fibre composition and fabric performance, the curriculum will also reflect upon the challenges faced by an ever-changing industry that needs a focus on materials and fit development (State of Fashion 2020), facilitating you in offering innovative and dynamic solutions to relevant industry challenges.

This programme prepares you for a professional career in marketing management. It introduces key subjects of marketing including economics, accounting, consumer behaviour, digital marketing, social media marketing, brand management and corporate social responsibility. It adopts a unique "practice" based perspective on the topic, focusing on the applicability of theory to everyday marketing activities, and prepares students for an industry career with a strong emphasis upon employability.
