The University has completed 160 years and the Bath Academy of Art became integrated with the Bath College of Higher Education in 1983. The campuses at Sion Hill and Newton Park started as institutions for teacher training back in the 1940s. The colleges merged to form the Bath College of Higher Education in 1975.
