The aim of the medical program at Alte University is to instill contemporary skills, values, and methods in both practical and theoretical applications of medicine, to prepare internationally qualified, highly skilled, medical professionals.

The course offers:

Integrated teaching with an innovative approach, to provide both basic and clinical understanding of organ systems, as well as developing the necessary knowledge, skills, and values required for the field of medicine. The course takes place over four phases.

Original MD program has been created by our University professors in 1992 and in 1997 the copyright
was issued on it (#1- 01/21-34). The program was created as an innovative teaching method (DTMU
MD program) integrated around organ-systems.

The program enlights human organ systems teaching appropriate chapters of different disciplines:
Thus, rather then studying Histology, Anatomy, Biochemistry and other sciences in Separate Semesters,
we teach for example, Embryology and Histology of Gastro-Intestinal system, followed by it’s Gross
anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry of digestion, Microbiology, Pathology with it’s clinical
manifestations, and Pharmacology. This allows our students better understand the interdisciplinary.

has proven, that this approach helps the students better remember material, and achive better score on
the USMLE exams. 

David Tvildiani Medical University offers 6 years of degree including 1 year of internship.

The aim of the “Medical Doctor's” Programme: is to prepare  Medical Doctors who are competitive on the local and international market, highly qualified, morally grounded, with appropriate competences, who will be able to satisfy educational requirements of an open society, which facilitates implementation of the CU”s general mission: to graduate competitive, highly qualified, morally grounded graduates who are faithful to democratic values and principles of democracy.

Educational programme is focused on the standards of Medical Education of the World Federation (WFME).

The programme provides development of such practical / clinical abilities and way of thinking which is essential for a successful professional activity and post-diploma lifelong education.

Objectives of the programme are as follows:

To give international standard education of evidence based medicine which is indispensable for practical medical work;
To provide the graduates with education in basic, clinical, behavioral and social sciences necessary for practical activities in the field of medicine.
To gain the knowledge of legislative basics of the health care system;
To acquire clinical and communication (with the patient, her\his family, colleagues and other representatives of the health care) skills and patient-centered competences.

To acquire  values of Medical Ethics (sense of respect of patients, taking into consideration their interests despite their social, cultural, religious and ethnical background; work in accordance with the professional ethics).
