This course is designed to enable engineers and other technical specialists to take a leadership role in the field of environmental engineering and management. The course deals with the broad aspects of environmental management relevant to practising professionals in engineering science, planning, architecture, law, surveying, health and building. Engineers, scientists, town planners and other professionals working in this field have a compelling duty to ensure that the adverse effects of development on the total environment are minimised. The duration of the course is one-and-a-half years; however, applicants with a recognised bachelor's degree in engineering or the natural and physical sciences are eligible for recognition of prior learning of up to four subjects and are thus able to complete the course in one year on a full-time basis. The course combines a set of key subjects that contain information on the nature of environmental problems together with engineering techniques for their solution. This is supplemented by management and policy subjects to empower the engineer, or technical specialist, to lead multidisciplinary teams working in the field of environmental engineering and management. The course follows an integrated approach to professional practice through professional engineering subjects, subjects relating to environmental engineering management, an independent project, and a set of electives.

This program allows students to complete the Master of Engineering (ME) and the Master of Engineering Management (MEM) in two years of full-time study. The course follows an integrated approach to professional practice through professional engineering subjects, subjects relating to the major, an independent graduate project (in the area of the major), and a set of electives.

This course is for professional engineers who want to combine the Master of Engineering with a specific major with the Master of Engineering Management. This enables students to gain both technical and management skills in an accelerated way and complete two courses in two years rather than three years individually.

This course is designed to provide an opportunity for professional engineers to extend their knowledge and update their skills in line with recent advances. This course allows busy professional engineers to embark on postgraduate studies before committing to a master's degree. The course follows an integrated approach to professional practice through professional engineering subjects and subjects relating to a particular stream (major). Upon completion, students may articulate to a relevant master's program with credit for the subjects completed in this course.

Students have the option of undertaking honours in science, or an additional two internships to gain the Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice, or both.

Engineers with Medical Scientist training have careers that are dynamic and involve an exciting range of professions from research and development, writing and implementing policy and practice in the medical and health sciences, to working in industry, government, and the innovation sector. This course allows choice or majors within both the Medical Scientist and Engineering programs, so students can specialise to their interests.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) program has a core taken by all engineering students which provides the foundation knowledge and skills required of every engineer. Students choose a major which is where they develop the technical knowledge specific to that field of practice. There is a choice of eleven majors including Biomedical, Civil, Data, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and a Flexible major that can be paired with the choice of major in the Bachelor of Medical Science to create a study trajectory that aligns with the student’s interests and career ambitions.

Medical Scientists at UTS can choose to major in Medical and Health-related Sciences or Pathology, allowing them to have speciality relevant to their career choices and interests. In the Medical and Health-related Science major students learn the body through the study of tissues, organs and cellular facets both in health and disease, medical devices, how medicines work, as well as public health policies and clinical trials. In the Pathology major students learn how diseases trigger biochemical or cellular changes in the body and how to best diagnose and treat these diseases. Students learn by applying and investigating scientific approaches in world class laboratories and studios with up-to-date scientific technologies and equipment in line with those used in the industry. This hands-on learning is accompanied by development of professional skills such as communication, problem solving, critical thinking, innovation and team-work to deliver impact across local and global communities.

A strong professional focus ensures graduates of this course learn the skills employers want with a solid link between theory and practice and the benefits of hands-on experience. Students explore and investigate the human body's structure, function and disease processes at the cellular and whole organ level. In the engineering program students build strong foundations in engineering theory, technical expertise and knowledge of professional practice. The course provides the knowledge and skills for students to be excellent medical scientists and engineers, who can make a difference to society in a range of careers.

This course provides an opportunity at master's level for technical specialists and professional engineers who have completed either a three-year Bachelor of Technology or a four-year Bachelor of Engineering to graduate with an Engineers Australia-accredited, professional engineering qualification. The Master of Professional Engineering is designed to incorporate an integrated approach to professional engineering practice through professional engineering subjects, major-specific subjects, an independent project, and engineering practice stream.
