The Master of Regulation and Governance (MREGG) is a unique degree that equips students and their organisations to navigate environments where complexity, catastrophic risk, and transformative technologies are reshaping the ways in which we govern and regulate. Graduates from this program will be working in - or will join - government or private sector organisations charged with designing and applying regulatory policy solutions to pressing social problems, often in partnership with diverse stakeholders. Core courses provide students with a solid foundation in the concepts, processes, institutions and practice of regulation and governance. Elective courses provide case-studies, simulations and clinics in which to examine domains such as climate, crime, environment, health, Indigenous Australia, justice, safety, technology and urban design. All the courses are interactive and ask how regulation and governance is created and by whom - and for what purpose, with an emphasis on how to better anticipate catastrophe, manage risk and provide equitable social outcomes. It draws on the evidence-based research and the 'big ideas' in regulation and governance for which the ANU's RegNet academics are world famous. The Master of Contemporary Art Practices is aimed at artists who want to develop a more ambitious, independent contemporary art practice. The program extends a students practical, theoretical and conceptual knowledge in order to develop a deeper understanding of contemporary practices in context of how artists work in a range of disciplines.

The Master of Contemporary Practices in Art (Advanced) is aimed at artists who want to develop a more ambitious, independent contemporary art practice. Contemporary artists respond to the challenges and questions that arise in an increasingly global and technologically advanced world. Their approaches are diverse, combining materials, methods and subjects that extend their practice. Artists today increasingly problem solve, collaborate with a variety of partners, and think and work outside of the traditional boundaries that distinguish a contemporary practice. This graduate program is unique as it supports hands on learning development in workshop, studio and digital environments by progressing students through courses that support individual practice-led research opportunities. Students are encouraged to undertake a range of approaches to contemporary art practice, including a focus on specialist knowledge of materials and skills, testing new conceptual methodologies, and/or solving problems through cross-disciplinary or hybrid experiences. Students benefit directly from and contribute to the research environment found within the School of Art and Design.

This program provides a formalised pathway to broader and deeper research-led learning on the Pacific region for policymakers, program designers, researchers and analysts working on and in the Pacific region. Drawing on the research portfolio and teaching staff of the Department of Pacific Affairs (DPA), as well as well-established cognate courses at ANU, this program offers the theoretical foundations to understand the complexities of development in the Pacific, while covering the depth and breadth of the current development, societal and political issues affecting the Pacific region. Students can design their own tailored program to include a blend of critical conceptual foundations in development and deep-dives into real-world issues for the Pacific region, with up to 30 different courses available. Students can choose from courses with traditional and intensive delivery methods, featuring assessment methods which foster critical awareness through an emphasis on building an evidence-base for policy work.

This program offers you the opportunity to develop a cutting-edge understanding of climate policy, informed by research-led teaching delivered by some of the worlds leading researchers in climate policy. It explores fundamental concepts, contemporary issues, and leading practices for working in and researching climate policy. Core components include study of domestic and international climate policy with a focus on emissions reduction and energy, and the effective communication of climate policy. Electives are available in intersecting and adjacent policy areas including water, food, pollution, and disaster risk reduction. Courses in this program are available online, in person and via intensive delivery.
