Describe A Long Walk You Ever Had: Sample 1
Long walks are enjoyable pursuits for me, and I eagerly schedule them every alternate day of the week. I believe in the age-old adage “early to bed, and early to rise.” Hence, four times a week, I venture to the park, walking for at least ten kilometers. One day, however, a walk turned truly “long” for me and my father.
We had woken up early at my aunt’s place, which is approximately 100 kilometers away from New Delhi. Being a predominantly rural area, there were farmlands all around, creating a quaint atmosphere. We had decided to go for a long walk in the locality. However, after ten minutes or so, we encountered a small girl crying on the roadside. Surprised and seeing no one else around, we approached the girl. Startled, she wiped her tears while telling us how her mother and brother had gone ahead and how she had lost them. She had a sprain in her ankle and was stuck.
We were troubled by her assertions. I decided to go on further to look for the family after taking a picture of the little girl. My father decided to stay with her and wait. It turned into a never-ending walk, covering more than an hour. I was exhausted by the time I had crossed two adjacent villages. Dejected, I decided to return. I came back all the way to find my father sitting there with a broad smile, and the girl reunited with her family members. They had realized after a long while that she was missing and had frantically returned to the spot through an alternative route. While my walk was technically fruitless, they still thanked me profusely for my efforts and invited us to breakfast with them. That was the “icing on the cake” for me.

Describe A Long Walk You Ever Had: Sample 2
Fitness has always been my ardent passion. However, I steer clear of lifting weights or long-distance running. I prefer walking long distances instead. While I stick to my walking regime for the majority of the week, I also enjoy sharing my thoughts and interacting with my friends who accompany me every morning.
One of the longest walks I ever had was from my home to a popular eatery at least 30 kilometers away. We challenged each other that we would not last the course and would instead come back after the first 10-15 kilometers. However, we kept on chatting and walking until we finally reached the eatery in a couple of hours. We were completely drained and sweaty, and the restaurant manager made us feel welcomed with a plate of piping hot Kachoris (a popular breakfast item) and glasses of chilled Lassi afterward.
Despite the sweat and exhaustion, there was a sense of achievement amongst us all. We were thrilled to have completed the long-distance walk without any hurdles. Of course, the hot meal at our destination was an incentive for sure, but the biggest reward was the test of our perseverance. After a heavy meal, we took a taxi back home. While returning, we saw how the route itself was challenging with its twists and turns and uneven roads. Some of the roads were even broken or chipped in stretches. We also understood that we had made it to another part of the city seamlessly by keeping things casual. We were chatting about a wealth of topics. From Indian cricket and the IPL to the latest Yamaha motorcycle, we were engrossed in conversation all throughout. That helped us keep going without realizing our physical toil. This long walk will forever be a cherished memory.
