Describe a Foreign Person Who You Have Heard or Known: Sample 1

The essay topic seeks a description of a foreign person who I have heard. I am a fan of one of the biggest entrepreneurs on the planet and a billionaire personality known for his path-breaking ideas. Well, I am talking about none other than Elon Musk. I keenly follow his interviews, speeches, and tweets and have also read the book on his life.

I am fascinated by how he has turned futuristic concepts into reality today. Not many people would have envisioned that he would have made Tesla into what it is today. When he started, he was clearly driven by the idea of a cleaner and greener environment. This is why he took the most audacious gamble of his life and took Tesla towards becoming the path-breaker for electric vehicles. He has also seen his fair share of ups and downs in life. His SpaceX is also one of the most ambitious companies, ahead of its time. It has already completed successful trial flights and could one day be successfully undertaking explorations into space at a mainstream level.

I believe he is a real-life Ironman like Tony Stark, who lives in a world so futuristic and advanced, that it is incomprehensible to the rest of us. He is also straightforward and clear in his speech. He does not mince any bones about any topic that he speaks on. I must say, I admire him immensely and draw inspiration from him for my entrepreneurial ambitions.

Describe a Foreign Person Who You Have Heard: Sample 2

When it comes to a foreign person that I have heard and immensely admire, it becomes an uphill task since I am a fan of diverse and enigmatic personalities belonging to various fields and walks of life. Yet, if I had to choose, it would be none other than Steve Waugh.

You may find my choice surprising since I am an ardent Indian, born and living in the country, and have never been to Australia. However, I have been fortunate to have heard Steve Waugh speak as Captain of Australia, having listened to his interviews and watched him on the cricket field here at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, where I reside. I find his humble nature incredibly endearing. While one cannot deny his cricketing abilities, the way he led the team was exemplary. He was a gentleman cricketer by all means.

At the same time, not many know that he was one of the earliest supporters of several causes close to his heart. Many people from Kolkata know about his association with Udayan, a well-known charity. The way he attended their events every time he was in India would evoke admiration from the innermost corner of my heart. He has also been successful as a captain while demonstrating his intent to spread goodwill and harmony throughout the world. If I envisioned the phrase gentleman cricketer for a foreigner, it would have to be Steve Waugh. Graeme Smith comes a close second for his poise and class.
