Times Higher Education (THE) has released its World University Rankings by Subject for 2024. The international ranking body has analyzed multiple disciplines, grouped into 11 subject categories, for its 20th edition.
These include, arts and humanities; business and economics; clinical and health; computer science; education; engineering; law; life sciences; physical sciences; psychology; and social sciences.

Over the past five years, THE has diversified the rankings and featured more universities from across territories. With five territories – the US, UK, Hong Kong, China, and Canada – appearing in the top 10 of the subjects ranked in 2024, this year’s rankings are easily the most inclusive in terms of representation. Meanwhile, six new countries have joined the top 100 list: Austria, Brazil, Russia, South Africa, Spain and Turkey.
