FMGE Result: Important Dates & How to Check

Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is vital for foreign medical graduates aspiring to practice medicine in India. Conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), this examination evaluates the knowledge and skills of foreign-trained medical professionals to ensure that they meet the standards set by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Passing the FMGE exam is a challenging task. In June 2023, 24,250 students took the examination; 21,180 did not pass.

FMGE Result: Procedure to Check It

To view the results of your FMGE exam, follow the steps listed below. It is a quick and easy method that requires little time:

Step 1: Go to the official website – natboard.edu.in or nbe.edu.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, you will see different tabs; click FMGE.

Step 3: You will see the different examination sessions on the right side. Click on the month to view the results.

Step 4: Now, enter the required details and log in.

Step 5: You can now view and download your NBE FMGE result.

Note: It is recommended that candidates download, store, and print their results for future use.

FMGE Important Dates

• The final editing window was available from December 29, 2023, to January 1, 2024.
• Students can edit documents via the site between January 5, 2024, and January 8, 2024.
• The exam is set for January 20, 2024.
• The admit cards will be sent out on January 12, 2024. 
• The results of the FMGE exam will be released by February 20, 2024.

FMGE Result: Qualifying Marks

The official NBEMS website announces the FMGE exam results. There are 300 total marks in the exam, and students must receive at least 150 marks to pass. Candidates should know that there is no provision for re-totaling/reevaluation.

FMGE Result: What Next

Once the students clear their FMGE, they will receive a certificate from the NBE. This certificate will be needed for temporary registration with the MCI. They will also have to register with the state municipal corporations. This step is needed to apply for a mandatory internship with an Indian medical college. 

Post the internship period, the candidate can apply for any career option. Many options exist, such as going for higher education, working in a clinic or hospital, or doing medical research.
