HEC Paris bagged the first position for a fourth consecutive year in the annual Financial Times (FT) ranking for the best European Business Schools. It is one of the four institutions from France to make it to the top 10 on the list. ESCP Business School is placed third, EDHEC Business School ranks seventh, and ESSEC Business School made it to ninth place. The b-school to make it to the second position is London Business School (LBS).
The composite ranking of the FT top European business schools is a result of the leading European business schools’ performance in MBAs, Executive MBAs, Masters in Management (MiM), and rankings of two custom and open-enrolment non-degree executive education programs.
Besides HEC Paris, LBS, and ESCP, the other best European b-schools to round out the top 5 places of the Financial Times rankings are SDA Bocconi in Italy and St Gallen in Switzerland at the fourth and fifth ranks, respectively. Best European B-Schools for MBA, EMBA, and MiM
In the Financial Times Best European Business Schools 2022 ranking, French business schools performed well as 24 institutions from France made it to the list that included 95 European schools.
Europe is well-known for its Master in Management programs. Switzerland’s University of St Gallen ranks first on the European MiM Ranking published by FT. The second position is HEC Paris, followed by Rotterdam School of Management.
For the EMBA ranking, HEC Paris bagged the second position, whereas ESCP is the third because of offering a high graduate salary increase. EMBA graduates from HEC Paris and ESCP received an average salary of $342,273 and $311,444, respectively.
Diversity in the Best European Business Schools
Financial Times’ best European Business Schools rankings includes business schools according to their diversity, which is based on the proportion of international faculty and gender balance.
Regarding faculty diversity, Spain’s IE Business School, based in Madrid, has a 50:50 gender parity among full-time faculty. Whereas, with 15% female faculty, the University of Zurich stands with the lowest share.
Bologna Business School in Italy has the lowest with zero international faculty, whereas IMD Business School in Switzerland secured the top rank with 98%.
