Cost of Living in Dubai / Other Expenses Related to Pursuing MBA in Dubai

Apart from the MBA in Dubai for Indian students fees, you will also be required to pay other expenses like accommodation, travel and food, books, phone bills, personal expenses, and board.

Additionally, the average cost of living in Dubai ranges between AED 3,000 to AED 5,000 (INR 63,600 to INR 10,60,000) per month.

The potential expenses of studying in Dubai are divided into major categories. Take a look!

Accommodation

The majority of the schools and universities in Dubai will offer you accommodation facilities. These facilities are comparatively cheaper than private accommodation in the central city. Such school accommodation is divided based on the student’s gender.

You can expect the school accommodation to cost around AED 9000 to 14,000 (INR 1,90,800 to INR 2,96,800). The average price for a private one-bedroom apartment in Dubai will be approximately AED 7,700 (INR 1,65,000) per month.

Moreover, a three-bedroom apartment will be rented at AED 15,100 (INR 3,20,100) – if you share the apartment, your rent will reduce considerably.

Food

Food is a relatively affordable aspect of your expenses for studying for an MBA in Dubai – both for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. You will find all kinds of cuisines, vegetables, fruits, spices, and food options in a cost-effective range. Also, there is always an option to eat out.

Travel

Dubai has a well-connected public transport system which is also cheap. The buses and the Dubai metro fare begin at AED 2 (INR 42) per ride. While taxi fares amount to AED 3 (INR 64) but differ based on the distance travelled.

The best way to reduce transport and travel charges is to own your car. If you wish to do so, you will require an international license and a UAE driving license. Besides, you can also look at options to carpool with other students while travelling to the university.

Insurance

If you are going to study for an MBA in Dubai, your priority should be obtaining health insurance. This insurance is usually included in the total costs of studying in Dubai but may not be a part of your Dubai MBA fees.

If your university doesn’t offer any health plan, it is best to connect with private parties for your insurance.

For instance, the University of Wollongong in Dubai provides medical insurance to students with a 12-month student visa. The scheme is mandatory only for these students and not for non-sponsored students. Non-sponsored students will pay an additional fee to obtain the insurance from the registrar’s office.

Other universities, such as the American University in Dubai, provide access to the UAE Coverage Private Health Insurance for AED 1,700 (INR 36,000) every year. Students with private health insurance do not need to buy this plan.
