CA Course: Eligibility After 12th 

Here are the details of CA course eligibility after 12th: 

CA Foundation

  • Completion of 10+2 from a recognized board.
  • Minimum overall aggregate marks of 50% with 40% marks in each paper. 

CA Intermediate

  • This is the second CA level that can be pursued after qualifying for the Foundation course.
  • Another way to join this level is Direct Entry for postgraduate/graduate candidates with prescribed marks percentage. This is a 55% minimum for commerce postgraduates/graduates and a 60% minimum for those from other streams. 

CA Final

  • You must have qualified both the Intermediate Examination groups.
  • You must have completed practical training or articleship. 
  • You must have completed the four self-paced online modules.
  • You must have completed both the information technology and soft skill training level. 

CA Course Details After 12th: What Does it Include

Here is a step-by-step guide to know what different stages of the CA course include, i.e., the syllabus and subjects you will be studying at each level.

CA Foundation 

It has four papers: Accounting, Business Laws, Quantitative Aptitude, and Business Economics. All of these carry 100 marks each. 

CA Intermediate

The papers include Advanced Accounting, Corporate Laws, Taxation, Cost and Management Accounting, Auditing and Ethics, and Financial Management and Strategic Management (100 marks each). 

Self-Paced Online Modules

Students have to qualify for four self-paced online modules. Two are compulsory, i.e., Set A (Corporate and Economic Laws) and Set B (Strategic Cost and Performance Management). The other two modules, i.e., Set C and Set D, are electives where students can choose from multiple options. 

Information Technology Training and Soft Skills Course

Courses under this category include:

  • Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS)
  • Advanced Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (AICITSS)

Practical Training/Articled Training 

This covers two years of hands-on training and starts when the Foundation route aspirants finish their ICITSS and two Intermediate Examination groups. Direct entry aspirants can start after fulfilling the same conditions. Those passing the Intermediate Examination can begin only after completing ICITSS. 

CA Final

The papers include Financial Reporting, Advanced Financial Management, Advanced Auditing, Assurance and Professional Ethics, Direct Tax Laws and International Taxation, Indirect Tax Laws, and Integrated Business Solutions (100 marks each).
