Australia is gearing up to welcome international students and skilled workers as the vaccination rates are increasing rapidly. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has reiterated his statement of opening travel for fully vaccinated people when the country hits 80 per cent double dose goal in a press conference in Washington DC, USA, after meeting with the UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

“At 80 per cent vaccination rates, the national plan provides for people to travel again, and that’s certainly what we intend to facilitate and for vaccinated people to travel. We’re expecting to be welcoming back students, and we’re expecting to be welcoming back skilled migrants, expecting to be welcoming back when they’re vaccinated, people into the country on that basis”, said PM Morrison as quoted by UK media.

All the caps set on the returning fully vaccinated travelers will be removed. However, the caps will be increased for entry of humanitarian, economic and student visa holders. Though returning students and skilled workers will help bring study in Australia back on track and will lead to increased career opportunities in Australia.
“This week, we will hit three quarters of Australians aged over 16 first dose, and we will hit one in two having received their second dose and those vaccination numbers will continue to rise,” the Australian PM further said.
Doses of COVID19 vaccine delivered to Australians aged 16 and over; 13,646,933 first doses have been administered and 8,482,722 doses were inoculated, as on September 9 2021, as per Australian Health Department.

In New South Wales, 84.1% of residents are partially vaccinated , whereas 56.6% have received the second jab. According to current records, 74.1% of Australians aged 16+ have already received the first vaccination dose, and 49.3% are fully vaccinated against Novel Coronavirus.
